Earlier this week, Maryland’s business community saw encouraging progress: Governor Moore announced that his final budget will not include a broad B2B sales tax. This decision was a direct response to the overwhelming opposition from businesses across the state — hundreds of you voiced opposition, showed up in Annapolis, made your voices heard, and made a difference.
But we can’t afford to let up now.
While this is progress, threats remain. Lawmakers are still considering targeted taxes on key industries, potential increases to existing taxes, and new taxes that could burden both businesses and consumers. With new proposals expected any day, now is the time to act.
