Ron Stone, CEO and President of Adams Radio Group is the brainchild of the nationwide radiothon, with has over 8,000 participating radio stations. “This radio partnership with Feeding America continues to grow every day and in ways we had not dreamed possible… we are learning more by the minute about this hunger crisis in America and radio is once again proving that we will be on the front lines and doing everything we can to help families in
communities small and large.”

Johnette Cochran, General Manager and Director of Sales for Adams Radio Group of Delmarva says “This is something like never before. COVID-19 is pushing new people into poverty and our mission is to do more when facing a hardship. I’m so proud to be part of the radio industry and to see all the radio stations across the United States coming together as one and making this radiothon happen for Feeding America.”

Robert “Rob Jay” Johnson, Operations Manager for Adams Radio Group of Delmarva and Program Director for OC104 “Today’s Hits” spoke on what listeners should expect on air during Thursday’s radiothon: “Our on-air personalities will be encouraging our listeners to visit our stations’ websites to make donations to Feeding America.” He continued “We will also direct our listeners to our Facebook pages where they’ll find more information and a link to make their donations.”

“Nikki”, an On-Air Personality for 93.5 The Beach “Delmarva’s Rock Station” discussed the personal side of the radiothon: “As a broadcaster, my whole job is to try to make the day-today lives of those around me a little bit better every day. I’m thankful to be part of something so much bigger than myself and am touched to see everyone coming together to do something so necessary.”

Feeding America established the COVID-19 Response Fund on March 13th. Since then, Feeding America has distributed $112.4 million and over 94 million pounds of food to food banks across the U.S., helping provide nearly 79 million meals to people facing hunger. Feeding America announced earlier this month that an estimated $1.4 billion in additional resources will be needed over the next six months to sustain operations and continue to provide food for people struggling with hunger—a 30% increase to the baseline six-month operating costs of its 200 member food banks nationwide. U.N. experts foresee a second pandemic on track to follow COVID-19 – a global hunger pandemic. Now, more than ever, U.S. food banks need cash donations to continue to meet the needs of the growing number of people struggling to feed themselves and their families.
