SALISBURY, MD – Mayor Jacob Day is pleased to announce the opening of the 2021 funding round for the City of Salisbury Rehabilitation Grants for Commercial Building Improvements. Applications will be available beginning today, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Finance Department – Grants Office which is located at: 110 N. Division Street, Suite 107, Salisbury, Maryland 21801
Funding for this grant program is being provided by the Community Legacy program of the MD Dept. of Housing & Community Development (DHCD).Total 2021 funding awarded to the City by DHCD for the commercial rehabilitation grant program is $50,000.The maximum amount any single individual / business entity may request in this competitive funding round is $20,000.
A mandatory Pre-Application Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 301 (Council Chambers) of the Government Office Building, 125 N. Division Street, Salisbury. All business owners interested in submitting an application for 2021 Community Legacy grant funds must attend this meeting.
The meeting will cover the application process, the requirements of the funding program, and the timeline for obtaining the required project approval from the Salisbury Historic District Commission (SHDC).
Completed funding applications must be received (not postmarked) by the Finance Dept. – Grants Office by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022. Applications will only be accepted for renovations to properties located within the Salisbury Downtown Historic District.
