Specialized center features the Solo-Step overhead harness and certified balance and vestibular therapists
Aquacare and Fitness Forum Physical Therapy have opened their new Balance, Parkinson’s & Neuro Center at the Lewes – Route 24 location, bringing specialized care for people recovering from brain injuries, stroke, CVA, or who are experiencing neurological ailments, Parkinson’s, dizziness, vertigo, and risk of falls.
The Center is designed for people living with balance and vestibular conditions, from vertigo and inner-ear disorders to the unsteadiness that can follow a stroke, concussion, or joint replacement. It also serves older adults working to reduce their risk of falling, which remains a leading cause of injury among seniors.
At the heart of the Center is the Solo-Step overhead track harness, a body-support system that allows patients to safely challenge their balance, strength, and walking without the risk of falling during therapy. By removing the fear of falling, the system helps patients progress faster and rebuild confidence in their own stability.
“When people come to us, many have quietly reorganized their whole lives around a fear of falling or a fear of the next dizzy spell,” said Cara Konlian, MSPT, CEO of Aquacare & Fitness Forum Physical Therapy. “This Center gives them a place to work hard and push their limits while staying completely safe. The Center’s physical therapists are balance and vestibular certified and LSVT BIG certified for Parkinson’s care, and they build a personalized, one-on-one treatment plan for every patient.
Because Delaware is a direct-access state, patients can begin care at the Center without a physician’s referral. The Center accepts Medicare and most major insurance plans, and appointments are often available within the same week.
