Salisbury, MD – Step back into Renaissance times in Downtown Salisbury on Friday, Aug. 18, during the August 3rd Friday event.
Attendees are invited to dress in family-friendly period costumes for the “Ye Olde Time Warp” theme, though weapons should be left at home. People can also create a one-of-a-kind flower crown at Seraphic Blooming Co.’s vendor booth. King’s Ransom, a classic and modern rock band, will perform, and artists and crafters will be set up along the streets. 3rd Friday runs from 5-8 p.m.
Mathieu Glass Art will demonstrate glass blowing on-site; the Salisbury University Quadball Club will share information about the sport, which is inspired by quidditch; and there will be fun, Renaissance-themed games to take part in.
While downtown for 3rd Friday, do some shopping at local businesses. Blackwater Apothecary will host a pop-up shop with Romina Pashmina starting Aug. 18 that runs through Sept. 15. The Art of Chula will provide permanent jewelry services during 3rd Friday.
Visit the Salisbury Art Space to see the “On the Road” exhibition, which celebrates travel, movement and journeys and is sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation.
The City of Salisbury will host a ribbon cutting for the new Salisbury Headquarters, which includes the new City Council Chambers and Visitor Center, at 5:30 p.m. during 3rd Friday. The winner of the Maryland Folk Festival’s inaugural Poster Challenge will also be announced at this event.
