Mathew Powell, Vice President, Relationship Manager Commercial Banking at Bank of America, presents Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County (HFHWC) with a check for $5,000 to support the construction of new and affordable housing in the Church Street neighborhood during the 2019 fiscal year. “Homeownership is the key and foundation for future success for the families we serve,” says Molly Hilligoss, executive director of HFHWC. “Stability in the home helps children be more successful in school. In our 31 years of serving Wicomico County, 17 children of homeowners have gone on to attend college—truly a testament to the success of our program.”
To-date, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County has sold 66 homes in Wicomico County. The most recent, a new build in the Church Street neighborhood, is nearing completion thanks to the efforts of dedicated volunteers and the generosity of donors such as Bank of America.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
