Bank of America recently presented United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore with a $5,000 grant to support local programs targeting financial stability in the community. The goals of these programs include promoting self-sufficiency, improving financial literacy and offering basic needs and emergency support. Bank of America has developed a longstanding partnership with United Way, working to improve lives in communities across the Lower Eastern Shore.
Monty Sayler of Bank of America shared, “Bank of America is happy to support our local United Way and their partnering programs. Being financially stable is something we see as very important and we hope to continue to provide our neighbors with the tools they need in order to become independent individuals.”
This grant will help sustain 17 critical programs with a focus on financial stability initiatives in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester Counties. United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore is impacting lives by investing over $350,000 into these programs, helping over 43,000 individuals improve their financial stability each year. Last year alone, over 350,000 pounds of food were distributed in food pantries and 371 individuals were provided shelter services.
