The Beach to Bay Heritage Area, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to preserve and protect the cultural heritage, historical linkages and natural assets of Maryland’s lower eastern shore, saw many successes in 2021 and is looking forward to 2022.

  • Created 16 virtual video tours for museums and historic sites throughout the tri-county
  • Increased our boundaries within the tri-county area
  • Hosted New York Times National Bestselling Author, Kate Clifford-Larson at our annual luncheon
  • Strategic Planning efforts are underway to develop of 5-year plan
  • Awarded 5 mini-grants to other non-profits here on the lower shore

With funding assistance from the Rural Maryland Council, the Beach to Bay Heritage Area is working hard at developing African American Heritage Tourism products that highlight and interpret African Americans and their achievements and related historic sites throughout the shore.
