Salisbury, MD – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES) successfully hosted its Spring Arts Day on April 4th at the Newton Community Center, bringing together local youth, families, and mentors for an afternoon of creativity and connection.
This free, public event allowed children ages 6-17 to use their creativity to craft original artwork in a fun, supportive environment, with many entering a friendly art competition.
BBBSES staff and volunteers transformed the space with art stations, music, and activities, while snacks and refreshments were provided. Youth were highly engaged, taking pride in their work and enjoying the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
At the conclusion of the event, first, second, and third place winners received gift card prizes, and all participants were recognized with take-home gifts. Two pieces of artwork were also selected for display in the Art Showcase at Chesapeake Community College.
BBBSES extends its sincere thanks to the City of Salisbury for providing the Newton Community Center, as well as to the staff and volunteers whose efforts helped make the event a success.
