The proposed calendar shifts the November professional day from Wednesday, Nov. 7 to Monday, Nov. 5, allowing for more continuity in a week when schools will already be closed Tuesday, Nov. 6 for the General Election. The calendar also includes the Friday, March 15 professional day that was on the Draft B calendar. The proposed calendar meets the governor’s requirement that the school year begin after Labor Day and end by June 15.
The Board of Education and Wicomico County Public Schools welcome parent, student, staff and community input on the proposed 2018-2019 school year calendar. Please share input to comments@wcboe.org.
