SALISBURY, MDBrad Gillis, an established businessman and active civic advocate, recently launched his campaign for an at-large seat on the Wicomico County Council. Gillis is a Wicomico County native and has spent the majority of his professional career immersed in transformative real estate development projects that have enriched Wicomico County and beyond.

“I consider myself extremely lucky to have been born and raised in this community. I take pride in Wicomico County and truly believe in the potential of our region,” said Gillis. “In many ways, we have come far in recent years, but there is still work to be done in order to ensure that our trajectory is sustainable and that we are building a community for future generations. It would be an honor to help Wicomico County realize its full potential through council service.”

Gillis is a Principal of NAI Coastal, a commercial brokerage firm, and Gillis Gilkerson, a regional leader in commercial construction and real estate development. Both businesses are headquartered in Downtown Salisbury, the county seat of Wicomico County. Additionally, Gillis is part of a team that recently acquired Crown Sports Center (Crown), an athletic and entertainment facility located in Fruitland, Maryland. Since purchasing Crown, Gillis and his team have used direct community feedback as a catalyst to modernize and strengthen the facility’s service to its community.

“A common thread throughout our work is a strong commitment to our community. Each and every project starts with an intention to add value, whether it be an effort to solve a pre-existing problem or in proactive conjunction with regional efforts to move our community forward,” notes Gillis. “Through public service, it is my hope to play a role in the evolution of Wicomico County’s economic and business development efforts with heavy emphasis on strengthening our infrastructure and commitment to public safety, education, and environmental soundness.”

Born and raised in Wicomico County, Gillis is a graduate of Parkside High School. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Business from Hawaii Pacific University, Gillis immediately returned home to start his career. He quickly became an active and engaged member of the community. Gillis is a past President of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, and he currently serves as the 1st Vice Chair of the Greater Salisbury Committee (GSC), is a member of Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development (SWED), and serves on the Salisbury University Perdue School of Business Executive Council.
