
Del-Mar-Va Council, Scouting America is proud to announce Brian J. Stetina as the recipient of the 2026 Kent County Distinguished Citizen Award. Brian will be honored at a ceremony on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, 5:30pm, in the Gold Room at Harrington Raceway and Casino. Judy Diogo, former President of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, will serve as the event committee chair. This award honors a Kent County leader who has a wide influence in the business and professional community while serving as an exemplary role model for our youth.
Brian is Managing Partner of Faw Casson, where he serves as a trusted advisor to businesses and individuals in the areas of tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and business consulting. His ability to combine technical expertise with practical, forward-thinking guidance has made him a valued resource for clients navigating complex financial and business decisions. Brian’s leadership, positive attitude, and dedication to mentoring others have also made him an integral part of the firm’s culture and continued growth.
Brian graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has worked in the profession ever since. In recognition of his expertise and leadership, he was named one of Forbes’ Top 200 Accountants in America in 2025 and was recognized as a Top Accountant in Delaware in 2026.
Giving back to the community has always been a priority in Brian’s life. He is widely respected throughout Kent County for both his professional leadership and his ongoing commitment to service. Known for his energy, approachable personality, and genuine investment in the success of others, Brian has built strong relationships with clients, colleagues, business leaders, and local organizations across the region.
Brian’s deep involvement in Kent County includes having served on the Board of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce where he remains an active member. He contributes to the CenDel Foundation, after serving on their board for many years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for AGN International, helping support collaboration and innovation among accounting firms across the country.
Outside of work and volunteer service, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends, traveling, golfing, and bringing his trademark enthusiasm and sense of humor to every room he enters.
The Kent County Distinguished Citizen Award, now in its 35th year, has been given to many notable community leaders, including recent recipients Rick Horsey, Tonda and Joe Parks, Howell Wallace, Dr. Wilma Mishoe, Senator Brian Bushweller, Secretary Michael Scuse, Debbie Wicks, Secretary Jennifer Cohan, Commissioner Brooks Banta, Ed Dulin, Bill Andrew, Bill and Mary Jane Willis, Gregory V. Moore, and Jennings and Lisa Hastings. We are proud to have Brian join this esteemed group of leaders.
