Bring the Family to Halloween Events at the Salisbury Zoo

Parents and kids trick or treating.

Salisbury, MD — Follow the candy trails and enjoy festive fun at the Salisbury Zoo during three family-friendly Halloween events this October.

The Zoo is excited to welcome Monsters of Metal: Blizzard Bash & The Metal Shop as the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Halloween Happening, which is set for Saturdays, October 18 and 25, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Early Access tickets for Halloween Happening are on sale online through October 13; as a bonus, those who buy online will receive entry beginning at noon. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate. A family costume contest will be held at 3 p.m. during both Halloween Happening dates.

For families with sensory sensitivity, the Salisbury University Psychology Department will help us host a sensory-friendly Spooktacular Halloween event on Friday, October 10, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Space is limited. If tickets are still available on Friday, we will have them available for sale at the gate as long as they last.

“We are getting the whole Zoo decorated for Halloween, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone,” said Jamie Nichols, Development Supervisor. “Get your costumes ready and your tickets to enjoy these fun, family-friendly and non-scary experiences!”

This year’s events feature a new, more open layout than we’ve offered in years past. Guests can explore candy tables along the trails, enjoy activity areas, catch on-stage entertainment, visit food vendors and much more.

Ticket Information:

  • Spooktacular Halloween – $10 per participating child; non-participating guests admitted free.
  • Halloween Happening – $10 per child in advance (by Oct. 13) or $15 at the gate; adult admission is $2. Children under age 2 do not need a ticket unless they will be participating in trick-or-treating along the Candy Trail.

The Zoo will be otherwise closed to the public on October 18 and 25 as staff and our animal residents prepare to host these three exciting events.
