Thank you to Layton’s Chance Winery for allowing the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce to partner with the Dorchester Chamber for a Business After Hours on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Everyone enjoyed a great night of networking, wine tasting, and cuisine provided by Sobo’s in Salisbury and Ocean Odyssey Seafood Restaurant of Cambridge. During the event, Jennifer Layton introduced Steve Meckfessel from IRONMAN. He announced the Cambridge Community, County Council, City Council and media had all come together to create a five year contract for the IRONMAN International Event to be held in Cambridge, Maryland. The 37th Ironman Event officially opened the afternoon of the Business After Hours and it was reported that 700 athletes had already registered for the Ironman, Maryland to be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014. The first year they are expecting participants from 25 plus countries and as many as 2,000 registrants. Congratulations to Cambridge and the Eastern Shore for securing this wonderful opportunity! Jennifer also reminded the attendees that one of their member benefits is the use of the winery during the week at no charge.
