Salisbury, MD – The Chefs for Habitat Gourmet Gala returns to the Wicomico Civic Center on Feb. 18, and this year, it’s bigger and better.

Tickets are on sale now for the 12th annual fundraiser, which will be celebrating Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County’s 35th anniversary. The gala starts at 6:30 p.m.; dress is semiformal and the color jade is encouraged to celebrate the nonprofit’s anniversary.

At the event, local chefs prepare signature samplings for guests. Other highlights include music; dancing; a silent auction featuring unique catered dinners contributed by gala chefs; and a live, on-stage competition by celebrity fundraisers.

“So many wonderful people come to Chefs for Habitat to support the dream of affordable homeownership while enjoying amazing small plates contributed by our local chefs,” said Christina Williams, director of development at Wicomico Habitat. “It is truly a night of generosity, community spirit, and of course, fun.”

About Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County:

Habitat for Humanity works to make homeownership of decent, affordable homes a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County was founded in 1987; since then the affiliate has built and sold 72 homes locally. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments come back to the affiliate to help build more homes for more families.
