Salisbury, MD – On Saturday, March 2, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County held their 13th annual Chefs for Habitat Gourmet Gala at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. With the support of sponsors, donors, Chef Celebrity Fundraisers, Chefs, and over 500 gala attendees, the event raised a grand total of $121,000 towards Wicomico Habitat’s affordable homeownership and critical home repair programs.

This year, 13 community leaders participated in the Celebrity Talent/Fundraiser Challenge. The fundraisers, Aaron Jones, Allen Payne, Dale King, Dave Botscheller, David Livingston, Hank & Sharyn Yuloff, Jennifer Lexy Lefebvre, Jeremiah Coyne, Joe Bean, Paula Nichols, Ricky Pollitt, and Robert Fuller raised a total of $28,400. Jennifer Lexy Lefebvre won top fundraiser; raising a total of $8,660, and Dave Botscheller won the talent competition with his singing skills.

The night was filled with delicious plates and sweet treats prepared by 19 of the area’s best chefs including Darlene Davis (Amazing Lee), Susan Patt (Cake Art), David Wharton (Cakes by David), Tashana Phillips (DeCarla’s Treats), Al Chandler (Dinner Express Catering), Patrick Williams (Evolution Craft Brewing Co.), Troy Conway (Faithful Food Concepts), Kim Timmons (Flamingo Road Designs), Alicia Boyd (Humble Hearts Catering), Joshua Parks (Playa Bowls), Ka’Terra Dettbarn (Sweet Addiction), LaToya Ward (The Hook Up), Heather Hall & Shaina Bounds (The Ugly Pie), Chef Shy (Take Your Pick), Mel Gunderson & Frank Morgan (MayaBella’s Pizza), Taylor Fallon (Burnish Beer Co.), and DaRon Fosque and Jamir Taylor (JoJo’s Restaurant).
