Local Maryland carpet cleaning company, Chem-Dry On The Shore has created an on-going fundraising effort for a local breast cancer awareness and support organization, Women Supporting Women.
Owner Vance Morris commented on the reason he decided to stay local. “On a national level, Chem-Dry donates to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and my local franchise has participated in the national campaign since 2011”. But as with any large organization, Morris was concerned that all of the money was making it to those who needed it the most; the women suffering from breast cancer. So he decided to start a local campaign in Salisbury, MD with a local organization, Women Supporting Women.
Morris continued, “I want to be sure that the funds we raise through our efforts actually make it to those in need in our community. So I moved the campaign to a local level and have been donating $1.00 for every can of spot remover we sell to our clients. It’s great to know that our fundraising efforts in Salisbury, MD and the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland are making a difference for people here whose lives have been or will be devastated by this horrible disease”.
Sue Revelle, Interim Executive Director of Women Supporting Women, thanked Morris in a very kind letter, “Your support that is raised from the sale of your spot remover will help us continue to provide awareness, education and support to those affected by breast cancer free of cost”.
Women Supporting Women’s mission is to provide awareness, education and support to all those who are affected by breast cancer. Founded in 1993 by three local women from their homes, they have since grown to serve the entire Delmarva Penninsula. WSW is not affiliated with any national organization so that the monies raised stay on the Eastern Shore to help our neighbors, friends and family.
