Chesapeake Health Care (CHC) announces the grand opening of its Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) facility — a new building located in the heart of the Woodbrooke Medical Campus in Salisbury, MD. This new facility is an expansion of the superior health care for women of all ages delivered by the providers of Eastern Shore OB/GYN, a division of CHC.

Since 2012, CHC has been the only provider of prenatal care for Moms-to-be in Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties. In 2016, CHC providers delivered more than 1,950 babies. In order to meet this growing healthcare need, CHC began construction on the 26,700 square-foot building in December 2015. This much-needed facility will combine two smaller, outdated facilities, and will provide medical care to more than 17,000 patients in our community.

“We clearly saw the need to expand our health care services for women in the community,” says Susanne Gray, CEO/COO of Chesapeake Health Care. “With the opening of our beautiful, new OB/GYN building, we are now able to provide increased prenatal, preventive, and interventional care to many more patients. No longer will patients be restricted access simply because we lack exam rooms.” The new Woodbrooke facility has 32 exam rooms, which is 13 more than were in the former OB and GYN locations.

The new building located at 1647 Woodbrooke Drive in the Woodbrooke Medical Campus replaces the OB location at the Riverside Medical Complex, and the GYN location on Phillip Morris Drive that opened in 1972. It has been a goal for CHC to reunite the OB/GYN offices since August 2010. On staff are seven Obstetricians/Gynecologists, three Gynecologists, a Board-certified Urogynecologist, and seven Certified Nurse Midwives.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on August 15, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the new facility which will include guided tours and refreshments.
