Chesapeake Health Care Receives Grant Funding from HHS to Expand Mental Health Services

HHS-Grant-10-08-18

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $110,000 in grant funds to Chesapeake Health Care to expand community access to mental health services and treatment.

Chesapeake Health Care recently received a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in order to expand access to mental health care services.
Chesapeake Health Care is funded in part by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). This supplemental funding from HHS will make a significant impact in furthering Chesapeake Health Care’s efforts to expand community access to mental health services.
“As a primary care provider, we have increasingly become a gateway to integrated behavioral health care to screen patients for mental health and substance use disorders, and then connect them with mental health services,” said Brian Holland, CEO of Chesapeake Health Care. “This grant funding will allow us to expand the critical behavioral health services we provide to our patients including medication-assisted treatment, and other prevention services.”
With 12 locations and more than 60 mental health care providers on staff, Chesapeake Health Care is in a unique position to provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services for people who live in Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties.
