Salisbury, Maryland  Chesapeake Health Care is pleased to welcome Stacey Ogburn, CRNP-PMH, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at its Berlin Behavioral Health & Crisis Center, expanding access to comprehensive, compassionate mental health services for individuals and families across the Lower Eastern Shore.

Ogburn is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 17 years of nursing experience and a professional foundation deeply rooted in mental health care, education, and community service. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, which laid the groundwork for her career in behavioral health.

During her collegiate years, Ogburn spent her summers working at child and adolescent summer camps operated by Chesapeake Health Care in Princess Anne, Maryland—early experiences that helped shape her commitment to serving youth and families in the region. Following graduation, Ogburn worked for approximately four years in a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) at Eastern Shore Psychological Services in Somerset County, where she gained hands-on experience supporting individuals with serious mental health conditions.

She later earned a second degree in Nursing from Salisbury University in 2008, launching a nursing career that would span acute care, leadership, and psychiatric practice. Prior to becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Ogburn served for more than a decade as a Clinical Supervisor and Charge Nurse in cardiac telemetry, surgical, and critical care units at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. In this role, she provided clinical oversight, supervised and mentored nursing staff, led quality improvement initiatives, ensured regulatory compliance, responded to emergency situations, and advocated for patient safety and rights in high-acuity environments.

Ogburn completed more than 700 supervised clinical hours as part of her psychiatric training across a wide range of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. Her experience includes adult and child/adolescent psychiatric units, partial hospitalization programs, emergency consult services, psychotherapy practices, and outpatient behavioral health offices, including clinical rotations with Chesapeake Health Care.

“Stacey brings a rare combination of deep-rooted mental health experience, clinical leadership, and genuine compassion,” said Crystal Lambert, LCSW-C, Director of Mental Health for Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties at Chesapeake Health Care. “Her long-standing connection to this community and her ability to integrate psychiatric care with strong clinical judgment make her an exceptional addition to our behavioral health team.”

In her current role, Ogburn provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses mental health conditions, evaluates and manages medications, and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary care teams. She emphasizes evidence-based treatment, holistic care, and therapeutic relationships built on empathy, trust, and advocacy.

“My career in mental health truly began here on the Eastern Shore,” said Ogburn. “I am grateful for the opportunity to return to this community and provide care that supports individuals and families with compassion, respect, and evidence-based treatment.”

Ogburn is now seeing clients at Chesapeake Health Care’s Berlin Behavioral Health & Crisis Center, which offers integrated behavioral health services to support the mental health needs of the community. To schedule an appointment or learn more, call 410-973-6679.
