Salisbury, MD — The Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary continue their long‑standing mission of putting love of neighbor into action through their ministry at The Joseph House in Salisbury. Dedicated to rekindling hope and strengthening families, the Little Sisters provide essential outreach services including financial assistance, a food pantry, a day shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness, and The Joseph House Workshop, a transitional living program for men working toward independence.
One of their most joyful traditions is bringing the blessings of the Christ Child to children in Wicomico County during the Christmas season. Last year, The Joseph House distributed 435 Christmas gift bags to children whose parents visited the food pantry. Each bag included two large gifts, several smaller gifts, a book, an activity book or game, and warm winter items such as hats, gloves, socks, or a scarf.
To meet growing community needs, the Little Sisters are beginning their holiday preparations early with a “Christmas in July Toy Drive”. Community members are invited to donate a new, unwrapped gift for children ages newborn to 14 years old.
Donations may be dropped off during the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Thursday, July 9 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at The Farmers Bank of Willards, 365 Tilghman Rd, Salisbury, MD.
***Please note: Donations will be accepted at The Farmers Bank only during the date and time listed above.***
The Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary invite the community to help ensure every child they serve experiences the joy, comfort, and hope of Christmas.
