Salisbury, MD — The City of Salisbury has extended the deadline for submissions to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for a permanent public sculpture or installation at Salisbury City Park to Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

The City invites Maryland artists, artist teams, and emerging artists (18+) to submit qualifications for a site-specific work at the northwest corner of the park that emphasizes community engagement, accessibility, and interactivity. The project connects Salisbury City Park, the Zoo, and Downtown Salisbury, and is ideal for a large-scale, hands-on sculpture near a playground and river.

Budget & Support: The project is funded by a Maryland State Arts Council Planning Grant and a $30,000 MSAC Implementation Grant to cover design, materials, fabrication, installation, and artist fees. The City may assist with site prep and basic infrastructure.

Artist Stipend: Five semi-finalists will each receive $1,000 to develop detailed proposals, including models, material samples, renderings, and installation plans. We appreciate the valuable input from our community as we move forward in selecting the finalists.

  • RFQ Opens: August 7, 2025
