Salisbury, MD — Submitting citizen requests in Salisbury just got easier.
The City’s Information Services Department has successfully migrated non-emergency citizen service requests to a new, modern platform designed to improve how requests are submitted and managed.
The upgraded system introduces a rebranded, form-based interface, enhancing both the internal staff experience and public usability. Citizen Reporter, formerly referred to as problems or issues, can now be submitted through the City’s website under Report an Issue, just as with the previous system.
Residents may choose to submit requests anonymously or opt in to receive status updates. They can also view other submitted requests for greater transparency, as well as access additional information and resources on the City’s Citizen Reporter Hub Site.
Mayor Randy Taylor praised the upgrade, saying, “Our goal is to make it easier for residents to connect with their local government. This new system improves transparency and ensures that citizen requests are handled quickly and effectively.”
Upgrades to the City website over the coming year will replace the “Report an Issue” button with “Submit a Citizen Report” as part of our ongoing website redesign. The application starts by identifying the appropriate location, confirming that this is not a 9-1-1 emergency and then selecting a service category. From there, you can add details and photos related to the request.
“This new platform and interface leverages Esri’s ArcGIS technology and incorporates feedback gathered over several years from users of the previous system,” said the City’s Information Services Department. “As a result, citizen service requests will be processed more efficiently, with improved workflows and users will experience more consistent notification updates.”
