Salisbury—City Administrator Julia Glanz is pleased to announce that the City of Salisbury’s Field Operations Department has once again been recognized with the Local Government Insurance Trust’s (LGIT) Risk Management Services Award. The Risk Management Services Award recognizes exceptional risk management and safety standards within municipal governments, and comes with a $13,749 credit toward the City’s liability premium.

“Receiving this prestigious Risk Management award for the third consecutive year echoes the City’s dedication to ensuring a safe community for our residents and a healthy working environment for our employees,” said Safety Manager Frank Ennis. “Thank you to all City departments for your support and untiring commitment to safety.”

For the third straight year, the City’s Field Operations Department scored a 100% on the Primary Program Loss Control Credit Survey. The survey evaluates various safety standards including safety management processes, inspections, employee training, and accident investigations, among other factors. By earning a 100% rating, Salisbury receives no further recommendations from LGIT on how to improve its loss control oversight in the coming year.

City Administrator Glanz congratulated the team on another accolade, and for creating real savings for Salisbury taxpayers.

“Frank and the team in Field Ops are always looking for ways to improve employee safety, and this award recognizes their dedication and hard work. It also comes with the added bonus of over $13,000 in savings on our primary liability premium with LGIT, which makes it not just beneficial to the well-being of our employees, but beneficial to the taxpayer as well,” said Glanz.

The prevention of work-related injury contributes to significant savings for the City of Salisbury and its residents. For more information about the City of Salisbury’s Field Operations Department, please visit https://salisbury.md/departments/fieldoperations
