Wicomico County, MD – The Coastal Association of REALTORS® will be holding a septic and wastewater townhall via zoom on March 4th at 4pm. This meeting is open to the public and will be an open forum to talk to elected leaders at the City, County, and State level about the importance of septic and wastewater systems in Wicomico County. “Over the past few years, the process for replacing and repairing septic systems in Wicomico County has become an extremely lengthy process, and in many cases very costly,” said Coastal President Joni Williamson. “We have seen home sales suffer because of these delays, and by tackling this problem head on we hope to prevent a future decline in property values.”
There will be a panel discussion with elected officials about the state of our wastewater systems and where we are going as a county and a region. “Failing septic systems and access to sewer is a major issue for REALTORS® and the entire community,” said Williamson. “Right now, we have failing systems all over the county and in many places no real solution on how to fix them. We need to have a long-term plan on how we manage growth of both homes and business in our community and it starts by having access to a reliable wastewater system across the whole county. We invite anyone who has an interest in Wicomico county to attend this meeting.”
