Coastal Hospice Announces the Resignation of President and CEO Monica Escalante

Salisbury, MD – Coastal Hospice Board of Directors announces that Monica Escalante will be stepping down from her position at President and CEO, effective July 31, 2024. 

Escalante joined Coastal Hospice in July 2021. “Monica Escalante has served Coastal Hospice with dedication and vision for the past three years, leading the organization through a period of significant growth and innovation, said Morgan Fisher, Chair of the Coastal Hospice Board of Directors.Under her leadership, Coastal Hospice has achieved numerous milestones and solidified its position as the premier end-of-life care provider on the Lower Eastern Shore.” 

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as a President and CEO of Coastal Hospice”, said Monica Escalante. “I am proud of the accomplishments we achieved together and confident that Coastal Hospice is well-positioned for future success.”

The Board of Directors also announced they have appointed Ann Lovely, RN, BSN, CHPN as interim President and CEO. Ann brings 25 years of experience in end-of-life care, currently serving as Chief Clinical Officer at Coastal Hospice. Her proven leadership and expertise make her well suited to guide Coastal Hospice through this transition period.

“I have full confidence that Ann Lovely will provide strong leadership and assure a smooth transition as interim CEO”, said Fisher. The Board of Directors will begin a comprehensive search process to find a permanent successor later this year.
