#HonorAnAngel initiative recognized kindness in the community while supporting Stansell House and Patient Charity Care

SALISBURY, MD – August 11, 2020 – On July 31, Coastal Hospice completed “Honor an Angel”, its enormously successful inaugural virtual fundraiser. The month-long program allowed community members to share stories of “angels” in their lives by expressing love, respect and appreciation for family members, friends or special people while supporting Coastal Hospice.

The initiative raised a total of $22,635 for the Macky & Pam Stansell House and Patient Charity Care.

“A creative approach to fundraising has been particularly critical this year because we had to cancel or postpone several major fundraisers due to COVID-19 at exactly the same time our census was rising,” said Tammy Patrick, Director of Advancement. “This was the first time we had attempted a completely virtual fundraiser, and people responded with wonderful stories. We are very grateful. The money raised will allow Coastal Hospice to continue to put patient’s needs first, regardless of the ability to pay.”

Donations were not required, and stories were posted on the organization’s website, www.honoranangel.org and across Coastal Hospice’s social media accounts.
