The Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) is seeking local Placemaking projects in need of grant funding.
Placemaking is a way to make your community a better place to live and work by transforming public spaces into vibrant community places. As a place becomes more desirable and welcoming, properties around that place increase in value.
The available funding comes from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Placemaking Micro-Grant Program, which aims to assist local associations plan, organize, implement, and maintain Placemaking activities in their communities.
Grant awards range from $500 to a maximum of $2,500 and CAR is eligible for two Placemaking Micro-Grants per year.
Projects must turn an underutilized space into a community gathering area. Examples of successful grant projects include seating, wayfinding signage, free little libraries, and more. These amenities can be part of a larger project such as community gardens, parklets, farmers markets, trails, playgrounds, and dog parks, among others.
