January 20, 2020 – Salisbury, Md. – Members of the Community Foundation’s Women’s Fund recently raised over $9,800 in donations for the Village of Hope at the annual Women’s Fund holiday reception in December. Located in Salisbury, Village of Hope is a non-denominational nonprofit organization that provides a transitional living program and home for at-risk women and children in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties struggling with homelessness.
“Winter brings increased hardship on the local homeless population and the work done by Village of Hope provides critical assistance to those in need,” said CFES President Erica Joseph. “The contributions made by the Women’s Fund members will aid Village of Hope in their mission and create a little bit of warmth and comfort for others.”
“Community support is vital to our ability to serve the most vulnerable in our community and we sincerely appreciate this special gift from the Women’s Fund,” says Village of Hope President/CEO Donna Richardson.
The reception, held at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, supports a different nonprofit cause each year.
