Salisbury, MD — The Recovery Resource Center invites the community to join in remembrance and solidarity at the annual Overdose Awareness Vigil on Friday, August 30, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Amphitheater at the Salisbury Riverwalk.
Held in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, this powerful event honors the lives lost to overdose, supports those in recovery, and raises awareness about the impact of substance use in our community. The vigil will feature heartfelt testimonials, a candlelight ceremony, music, and a moment of silence to reflect on the lives we’ve lost and the hope we continue to nurture.
“Each name we speak, each candle we light, is a reminder that these lives mattered,” said Lisa Campbell, Executive Director of the Recovery Resource Center. “This vigil is not only about grief—it’s about resilience, community, and the urgent need to end the stigma surrounding addiction. Recovery is possible.”
The event is free and open to the public. Families, friends, advocates, and allies are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones to display at the memorial wall. Resource tables will be available with information on local recovery services, harm reduction tools, and support networks.
