Salisbury, MD Community Players of Salisbury invites audiences to experience Misery, the chilling psychological thriller by William Goldman, based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King. Directed by Devin La Femina, Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his self-proclaimed “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes—and soon realizes he has awakened not in safety, but in captivity.

As Paul convalesces in Annie’s secluded home, she devours his latest book and becomes furious upon discovering he has killed off her beloved character, Misery Chastain. Annie demands Paul write a new novel—on her terms—and it quickly becomes clear she has no intention of letting him leave. Tense, gripping, and packed with edge-of-your-seat twists, Misery is a masterclass in suspense and survival.
