Workers from Austin Custom Masonry recently braved 90-degree temperatures to lay the foundation for a new reading garden at East Salisbury Elementary School.
The Salisbury Jaycees are sponsoring the $3,000 project as part of the JCI USA Adopt-A-School program, with costs paid for by fundraisers and private donations. The completed garden will include benches and picnic tables where children may enjoy reading in a comfortable outdoor environment. A dedication ceremony will be scheduled to start the school year.
