A public meeting will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Crisfield High School at 210 N Somerset Avenue, to give the final report on the Community Visioning Session held by the City of Crisfield and facilitated by the Business Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON) on November 10, 2022. The community is invited to attend.
Mayor Taylor and Crisfield’s City Council engaged BEACON to provide research and facilitation to understand what the broad vision of a range of citizens was for Crisfield. BEACON of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University offers applied business and economic research and targeted outreach programs to a variety of organizations.
The February 2nd meeting will provide a review of the Community Visioning Session held on November 10, 2022, which was open for public enrollment and participation. Over fifty individuals met in groups of their primary interest to provide their vision and what projects and activities would help move the city closer to their vision. The focus areas were infrastructure, business development, youth and recreation events, and housing.
The contents of the resulting report will be shared at Crisfield High School on February 2nd. This report reflects the community’s input on the future of Crisfield and provides ideas on how to build a vibrant community, and will serve as a guide for the City of Crisfield’s revitalization efforts.
