Salisbury & Ocean Pine, MD — TidalHealth Primary Care and TidalHealth Specialty Care are pleased to announce Shaniqua Cross and Nina Stearn are their Team Members of the Month for December 2023.
Shaniqua Cross, Medical Assistant, TidalHealth General Surgery in Salisbury
Cross was nominated by Dr. David Sechler for demonstrating the values of Accountability, Community, Quality and Service:
“Shaniqua consistently demonstrates professionalism and compassion as she interacts with patients and team members.
Shaniqua goes above and beyond what is expected of her as a medical assistant. I work with Shaniqua daily as we treat breast cancer patients in the office setting. She helps to comfort and reassure patients who are learning of their diagnosis for the first time. This can be a very difficult time for patients, and Shaniqua often spends extra time with the patient after I have completed their visit to hold their hand and help explain the details of any testing and appointments that I have recommended.
Shaniqua’s focus is always on patient care. She is extremely dedicated, often staying late until all the patients have been seen and appointments and biopsies have been scheduled. Shaniqua knows my routines very well and anticipates what tests and x-rays I will be ordering and has these appointments and tests ready to be scheduled to save the patients from waiting. Her notes are extremely thorough and include documentation important for the care of my patients.
It is an absolute pleasure to work with Shaniqua. Our patients benefit the most from the care she provides.”
Nina Stearn, Manager, TidalHealth Cardiology in Ocean Pines
Stearn was nominated by Kim Stedding for demonstrating the values of Accountability, Community, Quality and Service:
“Nina is functioning as our office manager in the absence of our current manager, along with performing her job duties as Diagnostic Manager. She has a lot of responsibilities and is always available to us if we need assistance. This is a very fast-paced office and Nina is a great job at keeping everything in order.”
