Salisbury, MD — TidalHealth’s Laboratory Outreach Services team is pleased to announce that Danielle Curtis is its 3rd Quarter 2025 Monarch Award recipient.
Curtis joined TidalHealth in November 2020 and graduated from the hospital’s inaugural phlebotomy intern training program. She currently works as a technician in the outpatient lab at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.
Known for her exceptional customer service and venipuncture skills, Curtis has earned continuous praise from both patients and coworkers. She is often described as courteous, efficient and wonderful. Patient survey comments include, “She gets the blood on the first try,” and “The needlestick is painless.”
Curtis is committed to providing individualized, compassionate care. She is frequently assigned to the Richard Henson Cancer Institute, where her kindness and expertise have made a lasting impact. Patients often look for her upon arrival. In one notable instance, Curtis helped a patient with a fear of needles through a lab draw with calm reassurance and skill. She has developed such a strong relationship with this patient that when he receives injections, she holds his hand to comfort him.
The Monarch Award recognizes TidalHealth phlebotomists for their dedication, compassion, commitment to providing exceptional care to patients, and service excellence through their actions. To nominate a phlebotomist, visit tidalhealth.org/recognition.
