Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF) welcomes its newest employees, Kevin, M. Shertz, AIA and Shawneil L. Jackson to the DBF office in Salisbury, Maryland.
Kevin M. Shertz, AIA, brings more than a decade of experience designing residential and commercial properties. Shertz received his degree in Interior and Environmental Design from the Pennsylvania School of Art and his Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies from Lebanon Valley College. He is a registered architect in the state of Maryland and was the 2007 recipient of an AIA Chesapeake Bay Chapter Citation Award for Architectural Excellence for a custom home he designed on the Elk River while sole proprietor of his firm in Chestertown, MD.
“Joining the architecture team at DBF marks an exciting new phase in my career and professional development. I’ve always believed being an active listener is at the heart of any client relationship, and the best ideas come from collaboration. Now, being in a multi-disciplinary environment means providing clients with an even better project experience and having an impact on projects I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to participate on in the past,“ said Shertz.
Shawneil L. Jackson joined DBF’s survey department as a land surveyor in August. “The knowledge I gain from just being out in the field helps me understand the depth of owning property,” said Jackson. He works with the Salisbury survey team to provide assistance conducting physical site surveys and collecting and analyzing field data on various job sites throughout the Delmarva region. Jackson recently completed surveys for Coastal Club, Truitt Homestead and Beaver Run Elementary.
