Lights! Music! Marching! The Delmarvacade of Bands returns to Wicomico County Stadium on Saturday Oct. 25 as a competition and showcase for 12 high school bands. Delmarvacade, put on by the Parkside High Band Boosters, has been a fall tradition since 1977. It will also serve as a Maryland Marching Band Association (MMBA) Regional Competition, with three bands from Wicomico County Public Schools participating.
Spectators are invited to come to the stadium to enjoy the music and showmanship of marching bands from Wicomico County Public Schools and beyond. The bands competing will represent Wicomico High (4:30 p.m.), James M. Bennett High (7:15 p.m.), Parkside High (6:30 p.m.), Kent Island High, Annapolis Area Christian High, Colonel Richardson High, North Point High, North Caroline High, Stephen Decatur High, Easton High, Queen Anne’s County High and Northampton High. The MMBA will post the final Delmarvacade schedule closer to the event date, but the tentative schedule is below.
Delmarvacade of Bands takes place at Wicomico County Stadium in Salisbury, and is hosted by the Parkside Band Boosters to support the Parkside Band program. Admission to this event is $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. This is an incredible musical and visual event that provides an ideal opportunity for families with young musicians to see and hear what high school band is all about.
With Delmarvacade serving as the MMBA Eastern Regional Competition, competing bands will vie for Eastern Region Honors as well as their seeding for State Championships the following weekend. At Delmarvacade and other competitions, the marching bands from Wicomico High (1A), James M. Bennett High (Open) and Parkside High (3A) compete for the highest scores and best ranking in their class. All three will compete in the MMBA State Championships on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Towson University.
The competition will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, followed by the performing bands, with an awards ceremony to end the evening. Wicomico County Stadium gates open at 3 p.m.
The Delmarvacade of Bands is making news! Check out our DelmarvaLife interview. The 2025 Delmarvacade of Bands will be covered by the Delmarva Sports Network.
Wicomico County Public Schools is proud of this longtime marching band event, hosted by the Parkside Band Boosters as a fund-raiser for the Parkside Marching Band. Delmarvacade is one of the reasons why Wicomico Schools is consistently named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. Events like Delmarvacade, and the entire marching band program, support the school system’s strategic priorities of Student Achievement, Student Engagement, and Parent & Community Involvement.

Extra! Extra! Parkside High Marching Rams Band Alumni Game Oct. 24
As if hosting the Oct. 25 Delmarvacade of Bands as a Maryland Marching Bands Association Regional competition that weekend wasn’t enough to keep the Parkside Marching Rams and Band Boosters busy, the band is also having a special Band Alumni Game on Friday, Oct. 24. The game will take place at Wicomico County Stadium at 6 p.m. Oct. 24.
Delmarvacade has been a Parkside tradition since 1977, just two years after the high school opened. Parkside’s football game against Queen Anne’s that Friday will also be the Band Alumni Game, with band alumni from throughout Parkside’s 50 years invited to come out and play with the band again. For those who want to be part of the fun but don’t wish to play, there will be a section for alumni to sit by the band. Alumni who play will attend free, while those watching will pay admission.
If you are a Parkside Marching Rams alum and are interested in attending, please fill out this form for the Parkside Band Alumni Game.
If you will be playing at the football game with the 2025 Parkside Marching Band, here is a link to the stand tunes: Parkside Stand Tunes Folder
Parkside plans to do a special alumni recognition at Delmarvacade to thank those who have had a role in the success of the event through the years. Join in the fun all weekend long with the Band Alumni Game Friday and Delmarvacade – one of two regional competitions that will set the seeding for the Nov. 1 State Championships – on Saturday.
