Lights! Music! Marching! The Delmarvacade of Bands returns on Saturday, Oct. 21 and will showcase five high school bands that are a part of the Maryland Marching Band Association.

High school marching bands from throughout the region will fill Wicomico County Stadium with the sights and sounds of their field shows as bands tune up for championship events. This is the only chance this season to see the local marching bands of James M. Bennett High, Wicomico High and Parkside High perform their shows on the County Stadium field at the same event.

The bands competing include North Caroline High, Annapolis Area Christian High, Wicomico High, James M. Bennett High and Parkside High. We also welcome Snow Hill High, which will be performing at the end of the night in an exhibition performance. We hope you will come support all our local bands!

Bands will be judged on every aspect of their field show, including both musical and visual elements, individual and group elements, as well as the overall general effect of the show. Each band will receive a score based on a 100-point scale, and a trophy.

Delmarvacade of Bands takes place at Wicomico County Stadium in Salisbury, and is hosted by the Parkside Band Boosters. Admission to this event is $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. This is an incredible musical and visual event and is a great opportunity for families with young musicians to see what high school band looks and sounds like.

The competition will begin at 5 p.m. and will run until 7 p.m. with an award ceremony to follow. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the performance schedule can be found on the following link: https://schedules.competitionsuite.com/9e2d4bf4-e9a1-4444-b8c8-a0569bb210e1_standard.htm

This year, the James M Bennett and Wicomico bands will be competing at the Maryland State Championships at Towson University on Saturday, Nov. 4 through the Maryland Marching Band Association. The Parkside Marching Rams will be competing in Allentown, Pa. on Sunday, Nov. 5 for the US Bands National Championships in the legendary J. Birney Crum Stadium.
