American Roots Rock band, Eastern Electric will be performing at Salisbury’s premier venue for live music and events, Revival. With rock, blues, and a lot of down-home twang, their sound shows heavy influences of Garcia, Dylan, Cash, Allman Brothers, and other pillars of the roots rock landscape.
Eastern Electric’s members Nate Clendenen (guitar, vocals), Joe Esham (pedal steel guitar, vocals), Kyle Coffey (piano, organ, accordion), Matt “Smitty” Smith (bass, vocals), and Dave Gladding (drums, percussion) are all Eastern Shore natives. Although they’ve been performing in the Mid-Atlantic region regularly together for nearly a decade, this will be their first appearance in Salisbury-proper since 2017! Joining the evening’s lineup will be fellow Eastern Shore son, Ted Bowne, of acclaimed Rock/Reggae band PASSAFIRE, who will be fresh off a national tour in support of their 2021 album, Strata.
This Eastern Electric performance at Revival is something of a “revival” in itself. Since March of 2020 they have not been able to perform together as often as normal. Furthermore, this will be Eastern Electric’s first live performance with friend and colleague, Ted Bowne. In addition to Ted’s band, PASSAFIRE, being a national touring force at the forefront of the American Reggae movement, he is also an accomplished recording engineer and producer – having produced records for a myriad of top tier talent… including Eastern Electric. Their most recent recordings, a trio of singles entitled Back to Muhlenberg, Live in Rhythm, and Pourin’ Rain, have been in regular airplay around the region and this will be the first time they’ve been able to perform them live together.
