Fair Housing Seminars in Salisbury!

telemom

Local landlords, property managers, and residents are invited to participate in a series of free Fair Housing workshops offered by Telamon Corporation this Fall. The series will discuss a number of Fair Housing related matters, including common landlord-tenant legal issues, standards of livability, and disability rights in housing.

Telamon has partnered with the City of Salisbury’s Code Enforcement Department and MidShore Pro Bono to offer the first workshop of the series, What Every Landlord Needs to Know. This event will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 9:00AM until 12:00PM. Attendees will learn about the City of Salisbury’s code enforcement policies and procedures, tenant rights and responsibilities, and landlord-tenant legal issues. Panelists will be available to take questions following their presentations. All in attendance will receive a Certification of Completion.

The final workshops in the series, Disability and Housing: Your Rights and Responsibilities, are offered through Telamon’s partnership with Disability Rights Maryland (DRM). DRM is the congressionally mandated protection and advocacy organization charged with advancing and defending the rights of Marylanders of all ages, with all types of disabilities. These workshops will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 29 and Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 9:30AM until 12:00PM. Attendees will hear from Corinne Warren, Esq. of DRM regarding accessibility guidelines, requesting reasonable accommodations/modifications, assistance animals, how to file complaints, and who to contact for help. The presentation will be followed by a brief question and answer session.
