What is FAMLI and How Will It Affect My Business?

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with The Greater Salisbury Committee, SCORE Delaware/Coastal Delmarva, The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance, and the Maryland SBDC Eastern Region, will be hosting a workshop on the new state program, FAMLI (Family and Medical Leave Insurance)
Mandatory employer and employee deductions begin in 2024.
Starting in 2026, the Maryland Family and Medical Leave Insurance system will ensure workers are able to take time away from work to care for themselves or a family member while still receiving job protection and earnings up to $1,000 per week for up to 12 weeks.
The Maryland Department of Labor FAMLI Division will present information on how the program works and what employers can do to prepare.
