Family Medicine Practitioner Dr. John Whittaker Joins the Team at Chesapeake Health Care

Chesapeake Health Care welcomes John Whittaker, M.D., family medicine physician, to Chesapeake Health Care’s Pocomoke City medical office.

Salisbury, MD (May 22, 2019) — Chesapeake Health Care (CHC) is pleased to welcome Dr. John Whittaker, board-certified family medicine physician, as its newest provider in their medical office in Pocomoke City, Maryland.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Whittaker has been caring for patients of all ages and providing a full range of primary care services, including preventive health, routine checkups, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and health management.

Merging his office with Chesapeake Health Care’s medical facility in Pocomoke will allow for better patient care to those on the lower shore. Dr. Whittaker acknowledged, “I’m looking forward to joining forces with Chesapeake Health Care. It’s a natural fit that allows us to expand patient care in the community.”

Dr. Whittaker’s staff members will also be joining CHC including his wife, Susanne Whittaker, Office Coordinator, Shonda Suggs, Receptionist, and Rosa Land, Medical Assistant.

Dr. Whittaker completed his residency of family medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware. He received his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Maryland Academy of Family Physicians, and the Delaware Medical Society. Dr. Whittaker is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Atlantic General Hospital and Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
