The 2026 Fire & Ice Festival’s VFW Chicken Dinner is on as scheduled for Saturday, January 31st. Presented by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, the Chicken Dinner will serve as a benefit for Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 and is sponsored by Mountaire Farms of Delmarva. While the 2026 Fire & Ice Festival “In the First State” has been postponed to February 6-8, the Chamber is asking the community to help sell out tickets to support the VFW and the community in need.
Ahead of this weekend’s weather forecast, guests now have the option to purchase a “Pay-it-Forward” meal, which will be delivered to a local homeless shelter on Saturday evening (no pick-up required). Guests may also still pre-order regular meals for themselves, family, friends, or neighbors (pick-up required). Meal pick-up is now between 11AM and 4PM at VFW Post 7234 at 29265 Marshy Hope Way, Ocean View and guests are asked to pull around to the back entrance to pick up.
Both “Pay-it-Forward” and regular meals are $12 and include a quarter chicken made with the famous VFW Chicken Shack sauce, coleslaw, potato salad, chips, and a soft drink or bottle of water. Meals can be pre-ordered or purchased for donation at fireandicede.com, in person at the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, or over the phone at 302-539-2100.
