FLC Energy has added Dorrence Reid to its team as Weatherization Administrator, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver comprehensive weatherization services throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Reid brings more than a decade of experience in the Weatherization Assistance Program, including roles as an Energy Auditor, State Inspector and Director of Weatherization at Shore Up!. He most recently worked with the State of Maryland as a program inspector before joining FLC Energy.
The federally funded Weatherization Assistance Program helps low and fixed-income households improve energy efficiency, reduce utility costs and create safer, healthier homes. Services often include insulation upgrades, air sealing, heating and cooling improvements and water-saving measures.
“Mr. Reid and I have worked together in the Weatherization program for many years,” said Ryan Weitzel of FLC Energy. “His knowledge, experience and passion for this program will expand FLC Energy’s scope of services and our impact throughout the lower counties.”
Through Reid’s leadership, FLC Energy plans to expand its work supporting weatherization initiatives across the region, including pre-weatherization services, full weatherization upgrades, and crisis heating and cooling assistance.
Reid, a resident of Princess Anne, has spent his career working to improve housing conditions and energy efficiency for residents across the Eastern Shore.
“I’ve spent many years working in this program and have seen firsthand the difference weatherization can make for families,” Weitzel said. “We’re excited to continue that work and help more households access these important services.”
FLC Energy serves homeowners and communities across Delmarva, providing building performance services that improve comfort, energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
