Ocean City, MD – The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, and the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce came together to celebrate D3’s 30th Anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the company’s Ocean City headquarters.
Guests were welcomed by Owner John Gehrig, COO Jay Bosley, and the company’s talented management and creative team. The milestone event brought together business members, clients, partners, and community leaders to commemorate three decades of innovation, growth, and local impact.
Susan Jones, Executive Director of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association, shared a heartfelt story from D3’s early years, recalling John’s first pitch to the association when he introduced the groundbreaking concept of a website for business promotion — a moment that marked the beginning of a new digital era for the region.
To honor the occasion, Senator Mary Beth Carozza and Delegate Wayne Hartman presented official recognitions from the Maryland Senate and Maryland General Assembly, commending D3 for its 30 years of service and community commitment.
During the celebration, John reflected on his humble beginnings — selling yellow pages from his car and flipping through one to find his very first Ocean City client while still based in Baltimore.
“That was the moment it all began,” he shared. “It was just me and one developer back then, trying to help local businesses take their first steps online. Today, D3 has grown into a team of driven creatives who turn big ideas into meaningful results for our clients. They’re the reason we’ve been able to grow and thrive for 30 years. This company’s success belongs to them — their creativity, dedication, and heart are what truly make D3 special.”
Guests enjoyed food, drinks, and camaraderie before joining in a unique moment — cutting three ribbons simultaneously, symbolizing the support and partnership of the three chambers and D3’s long-standing connection to the region’s business community.
