Salisbury, MD – Due to our aging workforce particularly within the construction industry and the increasing demand for workers in skilled trades, Lower Shore Workforce Alliance has collaborated with Associated Builders and Contractors of the Chesapeake Shores division to develop a no-cost Fundamentals of Construction class.
The course curriculum will cover construction math, blueprint reading, power tool use, resume help and employability skills. Lower Shore Workforce Alliance will be providing funds to cover the costs associated with obtaining 5 key construction industry certifications; OSHA 10, lift safety, ladder safety and fall protection, first aid and CPR, and powder driven fasteners.
Applicants may apply online from April 10th, 2023 to May 12th, 2023.
We will hold an information session on May 15th, 2023 at the American Job Center.
Classes will begin on May 23rd, 2023. The selected students will be provided with Personal Protection Equipment gear on the first day.
On the last day of class, June 16th, 2023 students who completed the course will attended a graduation ceremony and employer meet and greet. Those students will also receive a voucher for construction site approved footwear.
