Funding Round Opens for Rehabilitation Grants

Mayor Jake Day is pleased to announce the opening of the 2017 funding round for the City of Salisbury Rehabilitation Grants for Commercial Building Improvements. Applications will be available beginning on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Housing & Community Development Department, 207 West Main Street, Suite 102, Salisbury, MD 21801.
A MANDATORY Pre-Application Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 301 (Council Chambers) of the Government Office Building, 125 North Division Street, Salisbury. All business owners interested in submitting an application for 2017 Community Legacy grant funds must attend this meeting. The meeting will cover the application process, the requirements of the funding program, and the timeline for obtaining the required project approvals from the Salisbury Historic District Commission (SHDC) and the Maryland Dept. of Housing & Community Development (DHCD).
Completed funding applications must be received (not postmarked) by the Housing & Community Development Dept. by no later than by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018. Applications will only be accepted for renovations to properties located within the Salisbury Downtown Historic District. Funding for this grant program is being provided by the Community Legacy Program of the MD Dept. of Housing & Community Development (DHCD). Total 2017 funding awarded to the City by DHCD for the rehabilitation grant program is $50,000. The maximum amount any single individual / business entity may request in this competitive funding round is $20,000.
