Gail Foltz, a 5-year Rotarian, was introduced on Tuesday, June 30 as the 2020-2021 President of The Rotary Club of Wicomico County. Foltz was nominated by a committee of Past Presidents and unanimously accepted by club members in June 2019 as the 2020-2021 President-Elect.
Foltz, Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager, with Shore United Bank., has held a number of leadership roles in the club. She has been Secretary for the past two years, was honored as Rotarian of the Year in 2018 and has served on the Scholarship Committee for five years. Her community service includes Past Board President for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore and current Board Member for the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay.
“Our community has experienced great uncertainty over the last several months and many challenges are still ahead. We are a group of service-minded members who are eager to give back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Foltz. “I am excited to see what the year has in store for the Rotary Club of Wicomico County.”
Gail’s one-year term begins as President Dan Livingston’s ends; a year filled with unprecedented challenges during COVID-19. “I could not have been more proud of our club during this difficult season. Anytime there was a need, our members stepped up. There was not a challenge we could not meet,” added Livingston.
Annually, The Rotary Club of Wicomico County contributes over $50,000 back into our community through the support of agencies and causes including: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, scholarships for local high school and college students, The Christian Shelter, RYLA, Easter Seals Camp Fairlee, Polio Eradication (Global), Fruitland Community Center, HALO, Wicomico County Library, the construction of wheel chair ramps and much more.
