Gillis Gilkerson, one of the most stable and trusted Construction Management and General Contracting firms on Delmarva, today announced it has been hired as the general contractor to manage several improvement projects on Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall on Camden Avenue in Salisbury, Maryland.
“We have a solid relationship with the University and always look forward to providing the necessary building and facility improvements to make the staff, faculty and student experience the best it can be,” said Tyler Barnes, vice president, Gillis Gilkerson. “The window replacements we handled on the north-west side of the building will definitely be noticed by anyone traveling down Camden Avenue.”
Gillis Gilkerson was hired as the general contractor for four different improvement projects including thirty-eight window replacements, exterior painting, lead abatement and masonry repair on exterior walls. Windows of various sizes, on the first, second and third floors were custom made to fit openings with heavy duty balancers to hold sashes open.
This first phase was considered a beta project as the University is planning on replacing all of the windows around the perimeter of the building.
“Gillis Gilkerson was a pleasure to work with,” said Max Verbits, architect, Salisbury University. “They were on top of the schedule and gave updates regularly, which allowed for the project to keep progressing. They did a good job of moving the troops along and ran a very well-coordinated job.”
