George, Miles & Buhr, LLC (GMB) is pleased to announce the winners of their annual scholarship programs.
The George K. Miles Civil Engineering Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to students who plan to attend college to pursue a degree in civil engineering. Mr. Miles is a former partner at GMB and was involved in a variety of civil engineering projects throughout the Delmarva Peninsula. His brother, William Miles, was a founding member of GMB in 1960.
The Thomas S. George Architectural Memorial Scholarship is intended for a student who plans to attend college to pursue a degree in architecture. The award is named after one of the founders of GMB. Mr. George was instrumental in the design of many buildings throughout the Delmarva Peninsula, including several schools.
The 2024 recipients of the George K. Miles Civil Engineering Memorial Scholarship and Thomas S. George Architectural Memorial Scholarship are:
- Ali’i Turner: Graduated from Parkside High School in Salisbury, MD. Ali’i is attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a major in civil engineering.
- Owen Taylor: Graduated from Delmar High School in Delmar, DE. Owen is attending Virginia Tech with a major in civil engineering.
- Scott Feaga (not pictured): Graduated from Liberty High School in Sykesville, MD. Scott is attending the University of Maryland, College Park with a major in architecture.
GMB congratulates the three award winners for their hard work and wishes them well in their college careers.
